Adding new users - repository access question

Post by jdavidi » Mon Oct 02, 2006 10:06 am

Greetings!

Using v3.5.0.

We've got about a dozen repositories, divvied up mainly by engineering teams and the products they work on. When I add new users, they seem to by default get added as active users in all repositories. Is there a way to toggle this to do the opposite (I'd rather have to manually activate them in the repositories they should be working in as opposed to deactivate them where they shouldn't).

Or maybe this is more of a feature request? I think it'd be neat to, on the add/edit user screen in the Admin Tool, have a checkbox list of all the repositories that he/she should be active in.

Thanks!

One of the things you can do is set up groups and enable folder security on the repository. Then the groups can have full access to some areas and only read access to others. Then when you set up a user you only have to add them to the proper group.

Otherwise, there is a feature request for an Admin to be able to change the default behavior for adding a user. I can add your vote to that one.
