I have been using SourceOffsite 3.5.3 on a Windows 2000 server for some time to support a remote developer using VSS 6.0. This weekend the server crashed and we got a new server which is running Windows 2003 Server Standard.
I see that 3.5.3 is not fully supported on Win2003. The SOS service fails to run ("process terminated unexpectedly"). What are my options? Do I need to upgrade to SOS 4.x? Will this work smoothly with VSS 6.0? Our code is not on the .NET platform; it is Delphi 5.0.
I also see that there is some possibility of getting 3.5.3 to work if the MS JVM is installed. I tried installing this but got no improvement. Any suggestions?

If installing the MS JVM didn't work, then SOS 3.5.3 is no supported on that machine. The options would be to upgrade to SOS 4.1.2 or to find another machine with the JVM that the SOS Server will run on.
If you upgrade to SOS 4.1.2, you'll need a copy of the .NET Framework on the SOS Server machine, but client machines do not need the .NET Framework.
