I am using SourceOffsite 4.0.
I have .bat files in source control. I have notepad.exe set as the External Program for Viewing and Editing files.
If I try to "Edit File..." on any other files, then Notepad launches fine. But, if I try to "Edit File..." on .bat files, then the batch file starts to run (instead of being opened in Notepad.exe).
(Note: in Windows, doing a right-click Edit opens the file in Notepad)
How do I get SourceOffSite to Edit .bat files ?
Edit File... on .bat files runs file instead of opening

Thanks for reporting this. There seems to be a bug in the way SOS selects the application with which to open a file for editing.
When you select the Edit command, SOS uses the default system application for the file, rather than the application configured in Tools->Options->External Programs.
The workaround is to enable the Command Dialog for Edit and View under Tools->Options->Command Dialogs. This will cause the dialog to come up when you choose Edit, and you will have the option to user Notepad instead of the default system app (which in this case runs the .bat file).
