Downgrading Vault Server

Is it okay to downgrade the server from 3.1.8 to 3.1.5? We need to troubleshoot a network/Vault problem and we need to go thru such step. How would that affect the clients?

You can downgrade the server, but there's no way to downgrade the database. The Vault database is upgraded with new versions of Vault and mismatched versions of database and server will not work properly.

If you have a backup of a 3.1.5 database, you could restore it for test purposes.

The bigger question is, how would a progressive upgrade help diagnose your network issue?

We have been quite happy about Vault until recently our IT changed our servers and firewall, as well as upgraded Vault to 3.1.8. We started to have problems with Vault. Here is an error I got when I tired to use the Admin Tool to look at the Properties of our Repository. I can look at the Properties of the Default repository or Add new users without any problem.

Check with your IT folks about the proxy settings, as they seem to be affecting Vault.
