Unable to get email notification to work.

I get this error when trying to use Vault email notification:

----2/22/2006 11:39:02 AM --()-- Error sending mail to Name@place.com at SMTP server mail-svr
----2/22/2006 11:39:02 AM --()-- Could not access 'CDO.Message' object.
----2/22/2006 11:39:02 AM --()-- Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.
----2/22/2006 11:39:02 AM --()-- The message could not be sent to the SMTP server. The transport error code was 0x80040217. The server response was not available

I have read the posts regarding the blocking of Port 25 by virus checkers and have unblocked this port. I still can't get it to work.

Please Help :?

The error 0x80040217 means that the attempt to access the SMTP server has failed. This could be caused by a number of different reasons - blocked IP, relaying denied, etc.

What app are you using for your SMTP server? Can you check loggin in your SMTP server to see if the messages are getting through?

Thanks very much. The email server we were using did not have relaying allowed. Now works fine.
