Keep CheckOut not working for *.config

Vault Server & CLient 3.16

Several files are selected for check-in, the "Keep check out" option is checked.

After check-in, the *.config files don't remain checked-out as instructed. Is it intentional?

It isn't supposed to work this way, but I can't seem to reproduce this in 3.1.7 in the GUI client (which should be the same as 3.1.6 in this area). Are you using the IDE client or the CLC?

I used Vault GUI client 3.16. The issue is systematic. May be Vault GUI is confused when the file is checked in + keep check out with no change?

Hmm. Does this happen for other kinds of files (not just .config files)?

I guess the next step is to turn on client logging (see the knowledge base) - hopefully it will have some logging info that would be useful.

OK, the log file and explanation that you provided at the top of it has revealed what the issue is. Yes it is a bug, and is on our list of things to do.

The issue is if you have the "Check In unchanged file" option set to Undo Checkout, and you have a file checked out but not actually modified, the "Keep Checked Out" option does not work when you try to check in the file.

One workaround until we fix this would be to change the "Check In unchanged file" to "Check In", and it will keep the file checked out as it should.
