SOS downloading project tree after a few mins. The server closes the connection. Already checked the keep-alive signal check box and rebooted the server. Any suggestions???

Do you have to restart the SOS Server to connect again or is the SOS Server service hung up after the connection is closed?

Any error messages in SOS Server log -- log.txt in the SOS Server directory?

Which version of the VSS automation component is used on the SOS Server machine? How to find out:

After the server reboot, I still couldn't connect. SOS seems to hang. I'm not able to connect at all.

There doesn't seem to be a error in the log file.

The ver. of ssapi.dll is 6.0.89.87.

See if this gives you any in-site. Thanks

Not much information to go on . . .

You're using an older version of the automation component, but it still should work.

What version of SOS client and server are you using?

What operating system is the SOS Server installed on?

Did SOS work previously, or has it never worked?

Can you telnet to the port being used by the SOS Server? The command would be
telnet <sosserver> <port>
For example try telnet on our demo server:
telnet sos.sourceoffsite.com 8888
what results do you get?

Now try the same command, substituting your own servername and port.

Also -- I'd like to see a copy of the SOS log file. Post it here or email Linda at sourcegear.com. Be sure to provide a link to this post.

Server and Client v.4.1.2 on Win2K server sp4(server), client-XP

It has worked in the past.

I get the same results when I telnet to your demo site and my site. Both point to the srcsafe.ini file with same protocol-ver:2.0. Only difference is the content-length(your's, 123, mine, 74) and the path but I don't think that's relevant.

I'll email you a copy of the log file.
