Working Directory Tree Deleted

Post by cpaxson » Tue Nov 01, 2005 8:31 pm

Is there any way that SOS could remove an entire directory tree from my local machine?

I'm using the 4.1 Client over a hispeed connection using VPN.

My working directory was emptied and all subdirectories removed. The top level folder remained intact.

I'm certain that I did not manually delete the tree. Is there some 'key' sequence that I could've have stumbled upon that would perform this type of action without spamming me first?

Not that we know of.

A recursive checkout, followed by an "undo checkout" with the "delete" option would delete all the previously checked out files, but the folder structure would remain.

Are the files/folders still in the VSS database?

Thank you for your quick response.

Yes, the folders are still in VSS. It's possible that I inadvertently used an older client with the 4.1 server. (3.5.2)

Do you know of any way this kind of thing could happen if I lost my remote connection (VPN) while updating a project tree?
