getting a 404 error on commit

I am getting an error:
"The remote server returned and error: (404) Not Found"
when attempting to commit files into the repository. The server is windows 2003 and I made sure that the asp.net web service extensions is permitted (enabled). What else can/should I do?

I am using the Vault Client 2.0.1 (2137) and can create and rename repositories from the client, just not add / commit any files.

a couple of different things:

1) does the server's log give any indication for any errors?

if not, i would suggest temporarily changing the server's logging level to "debug", and then try the upload. after the failure, take a snap shot of the sgvault.log file. if there is a problem, it will be logged there.

2) you mention you can add/rename repositories. this is done through the admin tool. from the gui client, can you add, delete, and move folders within any given repository?

hmmm...

it is missing the code from vaultfileupload.aspx.

the log file should contain text as

• Uploading file.
• VaultFileUpload.aspx encountered: <SOME TEXT MESSAGE>

is there something blocking the vaultfileupload.aspx page?
does the vaultfileupload.aspx page exist in the vaultservice virtual directory?
is the .aspx extension registered?

perhaps examining your iis logs (%systemroot%\system32\Logfiles\W3SVC1) for the vaultfileupload.aspx page would provide you with some information.

--- Yes, exact filename is VaultFileUpload.aspx

2) is the .aspx extension registered?
--- Yes, the site that the VaultService is a virtual directory under is an aspx site that is working fine.

3) IIS Logs. Here is a short snippet of entries that contain that filename. It is logging a 404 error for the .aspx page but requests to VaultService.asmx are fine.
