I've been a longtime user of Source Offsite and I rank it in the absolute tops in terms of value and utility. I've probably referred hundreds of users over the years -- I run a very popular Visual FoxPro community site at http://fox.wikis.com.
That said I have one immediate concern. In three attempts, with three separate clients in the past month, all running Windows Server 2003, I have NOT ONE SINGLE INSTANCE of satisfactory SOS operation to report.
I am about ready to give up on SOS. In three recent instances, I have been embarrassed by what should have been a 15-minute operation to get a bunch of people productive. Instead I'm looking like a schmuck, and I don't like that at all.
I have a very simple question, and one simple suggestion:
Question: Does ANYBODY out there report successful installation and operation of Source Offsite 3.5x on Windows 2003? If so please contact me at steveb@stevenblack.com
Suggestion: Searching for the string "2003", as in "Windows Server 2003", really sucks in the SourceGear support environment. Can someone at SourceGear PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE draft a white paper about installing SOS on Windows 2003? Yesterday would not be too soon for this.
Thank you for listening. Sorry for sounding bitter here but I'm feeling like SourceGear is letting me down. Typically among the first of my client interactions is to get them up with SOS. I'm batting 0-for-3 on Windows Server 2003, and as a result, three separate relationships are off to rocky if unpromising starts, and this is beginning to cost me money. Also it's embarassing. Searching for "Windows 2003 Server" in the support archives is worse than useless. Please, somebody. pick up the slack here or I'm outta here as a customer and as a valuable referrer of new customers.

SOS Classic on Windows Server 2003

PS there is an obvious bug in the automatic linking of URLs in messages. The community website I run is http://fox.wikis.com.
The parser here isn't smart enough to strip punctuation off the ends of links, as in http://fox.wikis.com. <== link does not work.

SOS 3.5.3 is not fully supported on Windows 2003 server, because Microsoft no longer supports the msjava.dll, needed by the SOS Server.
The Windows 2003 server issue is in the first five "sticky" topics in our KB forum. A search on "Windows 2003 support" will find it.
