Initialized Email in tblUsers

Server + Client 3.07:

There is an Email column in tblUsers table. It's very convenient to do email notification targeting a group of users..

In Vault Server, the Edit User properties from doesn't have an Email textbox. Is it intentional or reserved for future feature like email notification?

It is OK if we initalize the tblUsers.Email column outside of Vault Server? We'll just use it to isolate a group of users when we need to send some email notification.

Tri,

The email column in tblUsers is used by Vault for email notifications. Users can enter their own email address on the email tab at the bottom of the GUI client.

In terms of initializing that column outside of Vault, SourceGear cannot support ad hoc changes to the database, so please don't.

I'll also mention that we are considering some enhanced email notification functionality for 4.0, which includes things like management via the admin client, bulk notifications to particular groups of users, etc.

Note that the feature set for 4.0 is still TBD, but this is one of the items on the list.
