Changing Domains/Profiles

Post by jeffreygg » Mon Mar 15, 2004 4:20 pm

Hi, there. I have sort of an urgent problem. I'm currently evaluating Vault 2.0, and got myself into a predicament. Here's what I did.

1. Checked out some files for editing
2. Added computer to a new domain (was not previously part of a domain)
3. Logged in with a new domain user account
4. Copied old computer account profile to new domain account profile
5. Relogged into Vault with the same Vault account under the new domain account
6. Tried to check in the files, and/or check out files

The client won't let me check in those files (the option for Check-In / Undo Check-Out are greyed out)

If I try to re-check out the files, the client warns me that I've already checked out the files to another location, in my case "pavilion/workgroup". I can't perform any operations either under my old account or my new account now.

It seems the location Vault uses depends on the domain/workgroup it is in. Is the only solution here to remove the computer from the domain, check in the files, then re-add the computer to the domain?

Thanks,

Jeff...

You can undo checkouts from the admin tool - just login as an administrator and go to the Undo Checkouts pane, and select the files out want to reset.
