IDE doesn't check out automatically

Post by NSXDavid » Sun Mar 14, 2004 10:12 am

Using SOS Classic 3.5.3 integrated with VS.NET 2003:

After using SOS for quite awhile with no problems, suddenly whenever I edit a file in VS.NET it fails to actually check it out. This despite the fact that I have the IDE set to automatically check out files on edit. Changing it to prompt doesn't help either, it still just lets me edit without any indication that it's not checked out and editing is a bad thing.

I can manually check things out (right-click, then select check-out). And check them back in. Get latest version and all that works too.

Any ideas?

Check your SOS Option settings, File tab. Do you have "Use read-only flag for files that are not checked out" enabled or disabled? If its disabled, then enable it, restart VS.NET, and see if that makes a difference.

Worked!

Well what do ya know... that worked. Though I don't understand how the option got turned off to begin with. Nor is it really clear what that option does... hmm.. But, still, it fixed it. Thanks!
