We purchased 1.x (and love it) and we know that we receive a free upgrade to 2.0 (and I'm assuming 2.01) but at what point do we need to pay for the new versions. I'm assuming that Gold Support is the method of doing this?
Thanks,
Shane

Gold support gives you priority support responses, as well as free upgrades for 1 year. Patch releases are free (2.0.x), but major and minor releases will not be (e.g., 2.1, 2.2, 3.0, etc). So, you can pay for each upgrade as it comes out, or pay upfront for the next year of releases, plus get priority on support.
Last year, we released 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and 2.0 within a year. We can't promise we'll have that many releases each year, but generally you should come out ahead buying gold support than paying for each release separately.
