Duplicate folders showing up in vault client
Hello,
In the vault client, we have a guy that has every folder below the root showing up twice (his client shows two of every folder listed and any sub folder he goes into). If he checks out a file on one, it shows as checked out in the other as if all of the folders are just shared, but they aren't shared according when we go to the file properties in the share links tab.
He's even uninstalled and reinstalled his client and it still shows up like this. Any suggestions or ideas?
Thanks,
Dan

Sounds like his client side cache file has incorrect information about the project tree.
See this KB article about the cache files and how to delete them:

He cleared his profile file and created a new one, that seems to have corrected the issue.
Thanks for your quick reply.

We have another person that got this same error. Why is this happening? Is it something that we are doing incorrectly?

RE: Duplicate folders showing up in vault client
we're using 3.0.1 for both client and server.
it is possible that the ide or vault client was shut down during a refresh, but definitely not intentionally. Neither of the people that this has happened to thinks that they did, they usually leave their ide open all day.
We still have some projects on vss (migrating slowly) could that cause a problem like this?

If you have the client up while a VSS import is running, it's very likely that you will get duplicate tree items. I've got a plan for how to prevent this from happening, but it will be a while before I can get it into a release. For now, my recommendation is to not be connected to Vault while an import is running, and delete your tree cache when you see duplicate items.
