VSS Labels Migration

Post by Tom » Thu Mar 17, 2005 8:41 am

Some of my VSS labes did not successfully migrate over to Vault. What options do I have to get these labels over?

Thanks

Tom

Tom,

You need to examine your import log.

For every label that failed, establish if the problem was fetching the label from VSS or adding the label to Vault.

If the problem was fetching from VSS, try to fetch the label using the VSS GUI tool. If that fails, then the label cannot be imported into Vault.

If the problem was on upload (which is possible, because one of your earlier posts mentioned a problem uploading a file that was larger than 100 megs), fix the problem and then contact me, and I will provide you with an import tool that will import the labels again.

OK I have made several corrections you suggested in another thread and I'm getting close. This project is not that large. Can you assist?

These are the labels errors that don't convert to Vault.

Label Verification: The label TR 3111 was not imported because of the VSS error "Invalid OLEVERB structure"
Label Verification: The label DD65PO Changes was not imported because of the VSS error "Invalid OLEVERB structure"
Label Verification: The label 8.24.2004 was not imported because of the VSS error "Invalid OLEVERB structure"
Label Verification: The label 09.28.2004 was not imported because of the VSS error "Invalid OLEVERB structure"
Label Verification: The label 0.10.6.2004 was not imported because of the VSS error "Invalid OLEVERB structure"
Label Verification: The label 0.9.30.2004 was not imported because of the VSS error "Invalid OLEVERB structure"
Label Verification: The label version 8.24.2004 was not imported because of the VSS error "Invalid OLEVERB structure"

Given that those error are VSS errors, you should try to download those labels from VSS. The most likely problem is that VSS is corrupt and that those labels will not be imported.
