Problems adding an attachment

When I try to add an attachment to an item, I am getting an error, thus:

"Error

The data provided was invalid." (sic)

I tried jpg, txt, zip, from simple local paths. I tried with and without a description.

Eventually, I realised that I need to type a comment before an attachment will be accepted. This seems like an unnecessary constraint in any case, but I think that the error message could be improved to save a bit of head-scratching.

An item must have both a subject and description. A comment must have at least a subject.

If you add an attachment on the main Item Details page, Dragnet treats this as an attachment added with the comment. Since this is a comment, you must provide the comment subject.

However, if you get to the Modify item page, you can directly add an attachment to the main item without providing any other information.

Thanks for the feedback regarding the error message. I'll log a enhancement request to make the error message a bit more clear.
