"Unable to lock file"

Hi - Having a problem today with SOS returning the message "Unable to lock file: $<path and name of file>" Has anyone had this problem and/or know why it's doing this? Using version 3.5 in Windows XP connecting to VSS 6.0 from behind firewall via unencrypted socket 8888.
