File shows as checked out after checked in

Post by mstamper » Tue Jan 25, 2005 3:38 pm

We are using Vault 3.0.1. One of the employees here has 3 files listed as checked out (exclusive). He can check them in, but the display does not update. Still stays as checked out.

He has also tried to Undo the checkout .. same trouble.

Other files, he can check in and check out fine ... just a problem with 3 particular files.

Any ideas?

If this is all happening in the Vault GUI client (not the IDE client), can you verify on a different client or the admin tool whether the files are actually checked out, or whether they just appear as checked out in the one client.

Also, I would suggest turning on client logging class for "checkoutlist" and sending the results when it happens, so we can try to determine where the problems is. See http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=2146 for info on client logging.

There is an easy fix to this for now - delete the cachemember_checkoutlist file in the user's client cache (see http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=6 for more info).

However, the question is how the cache got out of date. Was the machine the files were checked out to renamed since the original checkout? Were they checked out during the upgrade to 3.0?
