4.1 client against a 3.5.3 server

Are there any issues with a 4.1 client going against a 3.5.3 server? I am having a problem with the server not responding and having to restart the service, the only thing that I can find that has changed is a couple users upgraded their version of client software.

We don't recommend using a 4.1 client with a 3.5.3 server. Although it can connect, some operations don't work correctly. Also you don't get the advantage of most new features and bug fixes since you don't have the 4.1 Server.

The server restarts could be from a different cause, however. See this KB article for information about concurrency crashes due to the SourceSafe automation component.
